This beach lies west of Buarcos, beside Cabo Mondego, the headland where the Serra da Boa Viagem meets the sea. The cape has been a Natural Monument since 2007 because of the scientific value of its Middle Jurassic rock strata. The sea is open and energetic. It was awarded a Blue Flag in 2025 and its water was rated excellent, with no pollution episodes recorded.
