Urban beach north of the mouth of the River Mondego, on the stretch of coast running west from Buarcos towards Cabo Mondego. In the sequence of official bathing waters in Figueira da Foz it sits between Buarcos to the south and Cabo Mondego to the north. The sea is open, energetic and abrasive. The environment agency (APA) classes it as a busy beach within a built-up area with heavy summer use. Water quality rated Excellent in 2025. Blue Flag and Praia Acessível (accessible beach) awards in 2026.
