For 20 years I ran hotel operations in the Algarve and in Dublin: at Four Seasons, Pine Cliffs, IHG and Carvoeiro Clube, where I was director of operations.
Every morning, someone asked at reception: “How is the sea today? Which beach should we go to?”
And every day I watched the surf school, the beach restaurant and the fishing boat next door stay invisible, because the big booking sites don’t show them.
In December 2025 I left hotels. In January 2026 I started Portal Turismo Portugal with Kaptar.Studio, to give anyone, at any time, the answer I used to give at reception.

Waves, wind and water temperature come from the Open-Meteo model. Tides come from the Instituto Hidrográfico. The webcams belong to MEO; we only link to them.
