About the beach

Praia da Murtinheira sits north of Figueira da Foz, in a section of the Aveiro coast where beaches follow one another at regular intervals with lower visitor numbers than the main beaches. Water quality is Excellent. The sandy beach is wide and exposed to the Atlantic swell, with coastal dunes marking the transition between the pine forest and the shore. It is a beach with a quieter character than its more popular neighbours — suited to those looking for the Beira coastline without the density of its reference beaches.
