About the beach

Ocean beach north of Figueira da Foz, with a seafront of about 1,340 m of fine white sand backed by vegetated dunes. The sea is energetic and at times dangerous for swimmers, but the swell draws surfers and bodyboarders and the beach has hosted several competitions. It has lifeguards, sunshade hire, showers, a bar, a restaurant and parking. Praia da Murtinheira lies just to the south. Blue Flag and Praia Acessível (accessible beach) awards in 2026.
