About the beach

An estuary beach of fine sand on the Murtosa channel of the Ria de Aveiro, west of the Bico quays, once one of the main landing points for moliço (seaweed) and salt. The lagoon water is calm and the bottom is muddy. It lies on the NaturRia nature trail and has a bar, sunshade hire and parking. It is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has been an official bathing area since 2016.
