Praia da Torreira sits on the outer edge of the Ria de Aveiro, on a spit of land that separates the lagoon from the Atlantic. Water quality is Excellent. The geographic position is unique: on one side, the expanse of the ocean with open swell; on the other, the stillness of the lagoon and the wildlife of the natural park reserves. Torreira is a regular departure point for boat excursions through the Ria de Aveiro. The main beach is wide enough to absorb visitors and the sea conditions are typical of the northern Atlantic coastline.
