About the beach

A stretch of sand south of the Mondego river mouth that includes the Cabedelo, a surf spot popular with local surfers, with long right-handers sheltered from the north wind by the breakwater. The beach has several groynes and offers support facilities and services. In summer 2025, sand replenishment works suspended bathing on part of the beach until mid-August. The Cabedelo section is on the 2026 Praia Acessível list.
