About the beach
A river beach at the Monsaraz Nautical Centre on the Alqueva reservoir, about four kilometres from the medieval village of Monsaraz; it was the first beach on the Great Lake of Alqueva, opened in 2017. You can lay your towel on sand or grass, with shade from trees. It has lifeguards, a bar and restaurant, changing rooms, a picnic area, a children's playground and water-sports support, and is on the Praia Acessível list.
