About the beach
The river beach of the Azenhas d'El Rei Recreation and Leisure Area, on the shore of the Alqueva reservoir near Montes Juntos, opened in 2021. It has a long sandy beach, lifeguard cover, a bar-restaurant with terrace, changing rooms and toilets, a first-aid post, a ramp into the water, a picnic area, a children's play area and several car parks. It is on the Praia Acessível list.
