About the beach
Small lagoon beach in the heart of the Ria Formosa salt marsh, next to a cluster of fishing and shellfish storehouses and a small bay with moored boats, surrounded by salt pans. The strip of sand is narrow, but the lagoon channel is wide and calm for swimming. To the west are the Natural Park headquarters and its tide mill; flamingos, storks and herons can be seen, and the railway runs right behind the beach.
