About the beach
A small sandy beach tucked between cliffs on the south side of Porto Covo, less than 1 km from Praia Grande. A staircase leads down from the village and, sheltered by the cliffs, the sea is usually calmer than on the open beaches. It lies within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Sines council lists it among Porto Covo's small coves and warns that these beaches have no permanent lifeguard cover and that some are hard to reach. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
