About the beach

Pedrógão Sul is the bathing area south of Pedrógão beach, in Leiria municipality, with a frontage of about 300 metres. The Portuguese Environment Agency describes it as away from the village and linked to sensitive natural systems, yet with facilities and services. It has a lifeguard during a long bathing season, from 4 June to 13 September, and a Blue Flag in 2026. It is an open-sea beach with Atlantic swell, so it is best to swim only in the supervised area. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
