Praia do Furadouro is the beach of Ovar — a town with a fishing heritage that coexists with the seasonal beach tourism of this section of the northern coast. Water quality is Excellent. The sandy beach is generously sized and the Atlantic swell is consistent, with conditions that attract surfers. The traditions of Ovar — including its celebrated Carnival, its azulejo tile-making and its gastronomy — have a cultural expression that goes beyond the beach. It is a north Atlantic coastal beach with a consolidated seaside resort identity, south of Aveiro and north of Espinho.
