About the beach
São Bartolomeu do Mar beach, in the parish of Mar, north of Rio de Moinhos beach, is a long beach set in a dune system, with a short strip of sand and plenty of rounded pebbles left by coastal erosion. It is easy to reach from the EN13 road. Esposende council recommends it for a family day out and lists sport fishing and walking routes; check fishing areas with the Maritime Authority. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
