About the beach
A wide beach at the mouth of a valley, about 2 km from Lagos, flanked by high cliffs: grey to the west and ochre to the east, where the rock formations of Ponta da Piedade begin. From the Atalaia viewpoint on the western cliff the coast can be seen as far as Sagres. It has restaurants, toilets, lifeguards in the bathing season and dirt-surface parking, and is a designated accessible beach.
