About the beach
A narrow, secluded strip of sand just east of Praia de Porto de Mós, set between jagged ochre and red cliffs. It takes its name from the reed bed around a stream that, in the rainy season, falls down the cliff as a waterfall. Access is on foot along a clifftop path and then down a narrow track with steps cut into the rock. Lagos council describes it as hard to reach, with no beach facilities or lifeguard. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
