About the beach

Praia de Esmoriz sits at the northern edge of the Ovar municipality, on a flat, extensive coastline that marks the beginning of the Beira Litoral shoreline. Water quality is Excellent. The sandy beach is wide and pale, with the Atlantic swell characteristic of this entire stretch of the northern coast. The village has its own identity — with fishing roots and a stable community that complements the seasonal beach tourism. It is a beach without the visibility of its neighbours Espinho or Matosinhos, but with the character of a seaside resort that persists year-round.
