About the beach
A beach on the west coast of Vila do Bispo, at the end of a broad green valley north of Praia da Cordoama. To reach the sand you cross natural grassland at the mouth of a small stream and low dunes. The beach is wide, sheltered by tall dark cliffs, and is part of a strip of sand about 3 km long: at low tide you can walk south to Cordoama and Castelejo. It is a quiet beach, with interesting rock formations along the tideline and plenty of nooks in the cliffs. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
