About the beach

A wild beach on the Costa Vicentina, in the Vila do Bispo municipality, between Praia da Cordoama and Praia do Amado, and usually almost empty. It is one of the few beaches where dune vegetation reaches nearly to the tideline. The central cliff is black schist shot through with red and orange veins; at the southern end a small stream drops onto the sand as a waterfall. Boulders from old rockfalls are scattered across the beach, so keep your distance from the cliff. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
