About the beach

A set of natural pools formed by basalt lava flows on Terceira's north coast, with open-sea bathing over a basalt-slab seabed and concrete access paths. It was adapted as a bathing area in 1969. It has a sun deck, toilets, a bar and parking, and is equipped to receive people with reduced mobility. The parish is known for its wine production.
