About the beach
A bathing area on a low-lying bay about 6 km from Angra do Heroísmo, with more than 400 metres of sun deck and around ten sea-access points by steps and ramps. It has a flat-bottomed concrete pool much used by young children, plus open-sea bathing over basalt slabs. Next to the small fort built in 1581 there are toilets, changing rooms, a bar and children's play equipment.
