About the beach

River beach in the heart of the historic village of Piódão, on a slope of the Serra do Açor, formed by a small dam on the Piódão stream, among schist boulders and shade trees. It is one of the municipality's busiest river beaches in summer. There is no lifeguard. In July 2025 bathing was prohibited for two days because of microbiological contamination.
