About the beach

River beach where the River Alva meets the Pomares stream, beside the village of Avô; the two watercourses surround the Ilha do Picoto island, which has a picnic area. It has a lifeguard in the bathing season, a children's natural pool, ramps down to the water, an amphibious wheelchair, a bar serving meals with a terrace and grassy areas. It gets very busy in summer.
