About the beach

River beach on the left bank of the River Mondego, in Torres do Mondego, about 15 km from Coimbra, among forested slopes. The main access is through Palheiros and a footbridge links it to the other bank. It has lifeguard cover, a bar, a restaurant, a playground and a picnic area with barbecues, and is used for canoeing and fishing. In 2026 bathing was advised against on 3-5 June and 21-22 July.
