About the beach

River beach on the left bank of the River Mondego, about 1.5 km from Penacova, in a green setting next to a campsite. A wooden footbridge links it to the opposite bank. It has lifeguard cover, parking, a bar and a restaurant, and holds the Accessible Beach award. On 21 and 22 July 2026 bathing was advised against as a precaution after a resin spill on the IP3 road; tests found no evidence of pollution in the river.
