About the beach
A river beach on the Cinco Reis dam reservoir, part of the Alqueva scheme, about seven kilometres from Beja, opened in 2020. It has 265 metres of sand in three banks, lifeguard cover, a bar, restaurant, children's playground, a jetty and platforms for canoeing, sailing and stand-up paddleboarding, and two car parks. The wooded area has walking and cycling trails and a bird hide; it is on the Praia Acessível list.
