About the beach

Praia dos Ingleses is a small beach of sand and rocks on the Foz do Douro seafront in Porto, between Luz and Ourigo beaches. Its name comes from its old link with Porto's British community; today it is known for its beach bars and terraces. A lifeguard is on duty in the bathing season. You can walk along the promenade or take bus 500 or 202, with parking in nearby streets. It is not a surf beach, and the rocks in the water need watching. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
