Praia do Carneiro is a small sandy beach with rocks beside the São João da Foz fortress, at the mouth of the Douro in Porto, south of Ourigo beach. Its water is calmer than at Porto's other beaches, and next to it is the tiny Praia das Pastoras by the Felgueiras lighthouse. A lifeguard is on duty in the bathing season and it is part of the 2026 Accessible Beach programme, with bathing equipment and assistance. You can walk along the promenade or take bus 500 or 202. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
