About the beach

Praia da Luz is one of the small beaches of Foz do Douro, in Porto, between Gondarém and Ingleses beaches: sand among rocky outcrops, right by the seafront promenade. A lifeguard is on duty in the bathing season and there are terraces, cafés and restaurants at the edge of the sand. You can walk along the Foz promenade or take bus 500 or 202, and there is parking in nearby streets. It is not a surf beach, and the rocks call for care in rough seas. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
