About the beach
Câmara de Lobos' main beach, west of the town centre, with some 330 to 400 m of rounded pebbles and a little dark sand where the Ribeira do Vigário stream reaches the sea. Access is free, via the seafront promenade, with cafés and restaurants nearby. It has a lifeguard during the bathing season. Bathing was temporarily banned in June 2025 and from 20 to 22 May 2026 because of microbiological contamination.
