A bathing complex beside Funchal's Passeio Público Marítimo, officially named Ponta Gorda – Poças do Governador. There is no sand: it has a large sunbathing area, two saltwater pools (adults and children) and a tidal pool; the sea is reached by ladders and, in the bathing season, a large floating platform is installed. It has lifeguard supervision, first aid, parasol hire, changing rooms, a bar and access for people with reduced mobility.
