Small pebble beach with a sun deck in Funchal's Lido area, right on the seafront promenade and less than 200 metres from the Lido bathing complex; it is also known as Praia do Gavinas. Around it are hotels, bars, restaurants, a supermarket, parking and the Lido Gardens, with Ilhéu do Gorgulho just offshore. Access is free but there is no lifeguard: the 2026 Portaria lists it as a bathing water from 1 June to 15 September with no guaranteed lifeguard cover. Water quality was rated Good in 2025.
