Small pebble-and-rock beach in Funchal's Old Town, right beside the Fort of São Tiago and shared with traditional fishing boats. Access is free and there is a beach bar with a terrace facing the bay; the Barreirinha bathing complex is on the other side of the fort. There is no lifeguard: the 2026 Portaria lists it as a bathing water from 1 June to 15 September with no guaranteed lifeguard cover. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
