A golden-sand beach of about 250 m at Sagres, in a bay ringed by deeply gullied limestone cliffs within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. You walk down a wide ramp cut into the cliff. From the sand you see the straight cliffs of the Sagres headland, with the fortress, and the Cape St Vincent lighthouse at the far end of the bay. It is less sheltered than Beliche, with average waves of about 1 m, and is one of the surf spots of Sagres.
