Praia do Beliche lies on the south coast of Sagres, in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, with views along the cliffs to Cabo de São Vicente. It is a white-sand bay roughly 150 metres long and 60 metres wide at high tide, tucked beneath limestone cliffs about 40 metres high and pocked with small caves. The council highlights the shelter it offers from the prevailing winds. The beach sits within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Reaching the sand means a staircase down that 40-metre drop. A tuna-fishing station, probably dating from the 16th century, once worked here, guarded by the Fort of Santo António do Beliche.
