About the beach
A small ocean beach on the south coast of the Peniche peninsula, next to the town, surrounded by large rock formations above and below the water. Stone for Peniche's fortifications was quarried here and, offshore, lies the Cortiçais underwater archaeological site, a Roman-era shipwreck. In 2026 it is an identified bathing water, but with no lifeguard assigned.
