The environment agency (APA) and Torres Vedras council both note good conditions for surfing and bodyboarding. It is one of the named beaches into which the long Santa Cruz shoreline is divided; water quality is measured at a point shared by these beaches, at Praia do Centro, and was rated Excellent in 2025.
