About the beach

The central stretch of Santa Cruz's long beach, around 5 km split into named sections (Navio, Mirante, Pisão, Física, Centro, Formosa and others). Fine sand between dunes and rocks; to the south, on the Ponta da Vigia cliffs, stands the Penedo do Guincho, a rock about 30 m high. Open sea, popular for surfing and bodyboarding.
