About the beach
The only bathing beach on Berlenga Grande: a small east-facing stretch of sand, about 40 m long, next to the Carreiro do Mosteiro landing. It can only be reached by boat, with regular summer sailings from Peniche. The island is part of the Berlengas Nature Reserve, which caps daily visitor numbers and only allows walking on marked trails. There is a restaurant and a small shop on the island. It is not an official bathing water: the water is not tested and there is no lifeguard.
