About the beach

A golden-sand beach, also known as Retur, with about 780 m of wide sand and dunes with their typical flora, within the Ria Formosa/Castro Marim Natura 2000 site. The path crosses a stone-pine wood with strawberry trees, mastic and rosemary; near the sea the dunes carry maritime pines, white broom and marram grass. Beside the eastern access a cycle and walking route (ecovia) runs to Monte Gordo. Jellyfish are likely in the water. It holds the Praia Acessível 2026 award.
