Praia Verde is in the eastern Algarve, near Castro Marim, in a zone where the pine forest comes close to the beach and the coastal horizon remains open. Water quality is Excellent. The name describes the setting: dense coastal vegetation contrasting with pale sand and water that shifts between green and blue depending on the light. It is one of the quietest beaches in this part of the Algarve — with less mass tourism than the beaches to the west — and retains the pine-backed beach character rarely found elsewhere on the Algarve coastline.
