Praia da Altura, listed officially as Alagoa-Altura, is in the municipality of Castro Marim. It is a long sandy beach running alongside the village of Altura and a broad dune ridge, crossed by raised boardwalks to several points on the sand; the western boardwalk shows how the dune vegetation changes towards the sea. The Algarve Tourism Board describes the sea here as calm and warm. There are restaurants, a sports area, water-sports facilities, lifeguards in the bathing season and Accessible Beach status for 2026.
