About the beach

Also known as Praia da Refinaria, it combines sand with many rocky outcrops and is popular for surfing and bodyboarding. The water gets deep quickly near the breaking waves, so take care when going in. It includes Azul (Conchinha) and Boa Nova beaches, the latter rocky with little sand; next to the Boa Nova church stands Álvaro Siza's Tea House. Aterro has a bar, restaurant and free parking.
