About the beach
A semi-urban beach with rocky outcrops, just south of the Mindelo Ornithological Reserve, created in 1957 to protect birds, dunes and woodland. Large boulders on the sand give shelter from the wind and are a play area for children, which makes the beach popular with families. The bathing water also covers the Pinhal dos Elétricos, Laderça and Terra Nova beaches. It is part of the Praia Acessível 2026 programme.
