About the beach
A sandy beach on a long stretch of sand between Azurara and Mindelo, set among dunes and pine woods, with a campsite next to the access. To the south, about a kilometre of protected dunes forms part of the Mindelo Ornithological Reserve. Water quality is influenced by the River Ave, which flows into the sea to the north, and was rated Good in 2025.
