About the beach
A non-urban beach in the parish of Lavra, between Angeiras and Agudela, with a long stretch of sand and extensive dunes to the north and south, protected by wooden boardwalks. Off the Matosinhos coast lies the German submarine U-1277, scuttled by its own crew in June 1945, at a depth of about 30 metres. The water was rated Excellent in 2025.
