About the beach
Small beach east of Praia do Zavial, at the mouth of a stream and facing south-west. Its name comes from the furnas in the limestone cliff, heavily eroded, with large undercuts and caves at its base; coastal scrub reaches down to the sand. Access is by a dirt track from Figueira, about 2 km away, and Turismo do Algarve states there are no beach facilities or lifeguards.
