The beach on the Óbidos Lagoon side, by the inlet that connects the lagoon to the sea at Foz do Arelho. Unlike Praia do Mar, which faces the Atlantic, the water here is sheltered from the waves, but keep away from the channel to the sea, where the current can be strong. The shape of the beach changes with the tides and the silting of the lagoon. It is a lifeguarded bathing beach, with a 2026 bathing season from 13 June to 13 September. Water quality was rated Excellent in 2025.
