About the beach
A rural beach in the parish of Estela, in the north of the Póvoa de Varzim municipality, with a long stretch of sand backed by dunes. The bathing water takes in the Barranha, Estela and campsite beach fronts, and a network of raised boardwalks runs along much of the sand, protecting the dune vegetation. It lies between Praia da Ramalha, in Esposende, to the north and Paimó to the south. Awarded the Blue Flag for 2026, it had water rated Excellent in 2025; that season, bathing was advised against on 1 day.
